Anne baker: the power of telling a story

With over 1 billion monthly active users, the Instagram platform has proven itself a force to be reckoned with.

One of the most popular features on the platform are the “Reels”. And let’s just say this new tool is extremely beneficial to businesses and average users.

Instagram Reels are short-form videos that can be up to 90 seconds long. As compared to posts and stories, instagram reels get 22% higher engagement rate.


THE STRATEGY:
We analized the client’s reels on the platform looking for oportunities to improve the amount of views and overall engagement of their content. The mayority of their content was product driven (showcasing), but there was something missing; a story.


We focused on setting a “mood” (visual and musical atmosphere) for the posts and in reels with models, we tell a story:


Going to the market?

Setting up the Christmas tree?


I was not about a necklace or a ring anymore, it was about how spectacular it looked while sharing a moment with friends or going shopping, thus connecting with the brand’s target audience.


THE RESULTS:

Reel views went up from 400 to 4,000 views, then from 4K to 8K and so on.

Ultimately, this translated to more engagement and sales conversion rates.
